Mary the Highland Cow |
The
Highland Cattle we have five breeding females on the farm. They
are Mary, Megan, Melisa, Angie & zoe with ben the stock bull.
They
are long - horned, shaggy - coated highland cattle are britains's
most distinctive breed and today as ever they are strongly evocative
of the romance and mystery of the highlands of scotland. Hardiness
is the key characteristic of the breed as the hair next to the
skin is soft and downy keeping them warm, the outer hair is long
and shaggy allowing the rain and snow to run off. This
particular breed survives best when kept outside. |
