The Ark Open Farm is a family farm in the
heart of Northern Ireland's Newtownards Peninsula

Set in forty acres of unspoiled countryside, The Ark Farm is home to around 200 animals. At The Ark Farm, we’re more than just a working farm focused on our animal’s welfare – we’re a place where children can immerse themselves in hands-on experiences from bottle-feeding lambs, and feeding real Reindeer through to exploring our fairy and dinosaur lands and burning off energy at our extensive play areas. 

Whether you’re visiting for a school trip, a birthday party, or a family outing, our farm provides a safe and engaging environment to connect with nature. Don’t forget to grab a bite to eat at our Cottage Café for a hearty homemade meal, coffee or snack.

Always have the best day at the Ark Farm. Have just took out a season pass because the staff are amazing so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable...amazing with the kids teaching them all about the animals at animal encounters and making barrel rides and tractor rides so much fun for the kids. All the staff are lovely and nothing is a bother!

First time visiting with our toddler and it was great. He even enjoyed it more than we thought! We also purchased some free range eggs which were massive. Definitely worth a visit. Animals were great, the staff lovely and helpful, and the café with a nice food variety including a couple of veggie options.

What a great day out!! Took our 16 month old daughter and she loved it! She had a blast getting to see all the animals. The staff were so friendly and was great to get to hear a bit about all the animals. Had a burger in the cafe and it was better than some burgers you would get in Belfast! Can't wait to get back for another day out!

The loveliest farm with what must be the kindest and best staff in NI. We are regular visitors, and also regular attendees to the special events eg Halloween, Christmas. Everything is so well run, the animals look content and the play areas are amazing. The cafe is also brilliant, with truly great food (not something you always get in places like this) reasonably priced and in a clean, cosy cafe. Honestly couldn’t rate the Ark Farm highly enough.
