The Ark Open Farm was opened on 14th August 1990 by Stewart and Lorraine Donaldson. Since then it has grown in size and in popularity to become one of County Down’s favourite family attractions. As a family run business, Stewart and Lorraine’s own children, Barry and Lyndy, also work on the farm alongside Lyndy’s husband Stuart who officially joined the farming family in 2018 when they were married in the Fairytale Forest!
Set in forty acres of unspoiled countryside, it is home to approximately two hundred animals of all kinds. Cattle, sheep, pigs, poultry, goats, donkeys, alpacas, deer, ponies and much more. You can meet some of the animals up close in their animal handling sessions led by the farm’s friendly team.
The Ark Open Farm also offers lots of outdoor fun including a Jumping Pillow, multi play areas, tractor and quad rides, Fairy-tale Forest and Jurassic Ark (Dinosaur exhibition).
