New Reptile Room & Chick House

Posted on

We spent lockdown 2021 refurbishing our chick house and transforming what was the goat house into a new reptile room, turning them into an exciting and accessible place for kids of all ages to see some of our more unusual animals, including African Pygmy Hedgehogs, Giant Hissing Cockroaches, and our Boa Constrictor called Benji, plus many many more.

The goat house is unrecognisable with a complete transformation into our new reptile room. This replaces our Creepy Crawly Loft to ensure the animals are accessible to all visitors to the farm.

The room design and installation was carried out by local firm Dougan Contracts Ltd

Spring time on the farm

Lambs

Have you been following our progress this lambing season? We’ve been sharing lots of live videos of our wonderful flock as they give birth to their beautiful lambs. This season we’ve already welcomed 23 lambs and have even had 3 sets of triplets born to three of our amazing Jacob ewes.

It’s a wonderful but tiring time of year for us farmers, we keep watch over the flock 24/7 to ensure their safety during labour. This year we’ve had to help out a few of the ewes, one ewe in particular had her first lamb stuck in the birthing canal and the other coming backwards! After a bit of help from us both (massive) lambs are doing really well and their mum is doing an incredible job.

Check out our Facebook page to watch the lambs being born right in front of your eyes.
