As a long-standing open farm in Northern Ireland, this award means the world to us. We’ve been proudly family-run for over 35 years, and to have that recognised is incredibly special. From the very beginning, our mission has been to create a space where children and families can connect with animals, nature, and each other, and this award is a celebration of everyone who’s been part of that journey. 💚
A True Family-Run Petting Farm in Northern Ireland
The Ark was founded by Lorraine and Stewart, who built the farm from the ground up while raising their two little ones. What started as a dream to open a petting farm in Northern Ireland has grown into a much-loved destination for locals and tourists alike. Today, their children Lyndy and Barry, along with Lyndy’s husband Stuart, are at the helm, bringing fresh ideas and exciting plans for the future of the farm.
Even more special? Lyndy and Stuart are now raising the third generation of little farmers on site, keeping our family traditions alive and well. 🐐👨👩👧👦
This award isn’t just for us — it’s for every visitor, every school group, every smiling face that’s fed a lamb, cuddled a bunny, or met one of our rare breeds. Our amazing team and our beloved furry family members are at the heart of what makes The Ark so special.
